My assumption was that he probably kept shooting new guards as they arrived, until he ran out of gunpowder, at which point maybe he was killed by a guard. Maybe the boneyard was as much full of dead guards as dead trespassers, but as the supply of guards was magically endless, the guards would always win eventually.”
