I wasn't sure what to expect with this book since I only ordered it because of the cover and the fact that it was an IR romance. Boy was I suprised when I started reading it. Although the situation is a bit farfetched, this book is HOT HOT HOT!!! Definitely not for the faint of heart. I recommend reading it around bedtime because you'll be exhausted by the time you finish!
Sexy and Exciting.

I loved this book. Adrienne Kama is an amazing author. The story revolves around Stella Rice, who is a 30 years old single black woman who has given up on men. That is until she meets Jake, her intimidating kickboxing instructor. Eventually they go out on a date and she enters the dark but sexy world of Jake.

This is one of the best erotic novels that I've read in a long time. I love how the story revolved around her friends as much as the great sex that she was having. The sex scenes were described very vividly yet with taste. Stella's personality "imperfections" makes her a more realistic character. I was also impressed to see characters of different races interacting as close friends and/or lovers. I did find a few grammar typos but overall this is a very good book.

Stella Rice is a 30-something business owner who has gone on a "vacation from men" after her relationship with Paul goes bad. But, Jake enters the picture.

Jake is the owner of the gym Stella belongs to; he's also her kickboxing instructor. After Stella is late for class a few days in a row, Jake lets her know that he's not happy. And he then he lets her know that he's interested in getting to know her better.

When Stella allows herself to be drawn into Jake's world, she finds out that he has secrets. Jake draws Stella into the D/s world, something she's always fantasized about, but never experienced.

I could tell you much more about the storyline but I don't want to spoil a potential reader's enjoyment of this fascinating look at Stella Rice's life.

Written in first person, The Chronicles of Stella Rice by Adienne Kama drew me in from the first word and didn't let go until the last. When I was working and unable to read, I was wondering what would happen next and anxious for the time when I could open the book again.

Ms. Kama has written a wonderful novel about accepting people as they are and not being afraid to face what you want in life, even if it's not what others want for you. I found myself laughing out loud at the antics of Stella's cohorts, because I could see my friends doing the same things that they do, including an interesting encounter with the new girlfriend of an ex-boyfriend. The relationship centers on what some people might consider controversial, including BDSM, and F/M/M ménage activity. Ms. Kama handles the scenes deftly, writing highly erotic love scenes that left me breathless.

The Chronicles of Stella Rice has earned a place at the top of my to be read again pile.

The Chronicles of Stella Rice is a combo of chick-lit and erotica. If you're looking for love and romance, look elsewhere, because this is a titillating read that explicitly chronicles the sex life of Stella and her friends for two months. Imagine a XXX-rated version of Bridget Jones' Diary featuring Halle Berry and you've got an idea of the book.

The diary narrative of the book quickly endears you to Stella and she became a friend in my head while reading...sometimes I loved her and other times I wanted to smack some sense into her. At times funny, shocking and erotic, the book was ALWAYS entertaining even if I didn't always understand or approve of the character's decisions. I couldn't stop reading this book as it was a real page-turner and I actually screamed out loud after reading some of the jaw-dropping turn of events. Since this book is about the first two months of the year, I can't wait to read what else is in store for Stella!

This book is NOT for the faint of heart as anything and everything goes. Be warned and have a cold drink on hand while reading.
