Damn near as good as 'The River Why', my favorite novel ever.

a very well written family epic. feels like your own family by the end. could be because its so long that by the time you are done you've spent more time with the book than with your family......

Epic. One of the best books I've read in the past decade. It defies any description... just read it!

How can I not like this book, it's about family and about baseball. I loved the detailed relationships interwoven in a baseball saga.
