“Griffin, Viscount of Abernathy, joins the Calvary in French/English war against his family wishes. He has a few weeks to find himself a wife and get her with heir. He walks the ballrooms and keeps coming across a delectable female. To his surprise Alyssa Carrollton feels the instinct attraction too and agrees to marry him the first night they meet. They spent three days together on a honeymoon and Griffin starts to regret having to leave her for war. He leaves for war only to wish he was back with his lovely bride again. Griffin becomes a war hero and given a Duke’s title by trying to save his friend on the battlefield. He feels very guilty because his friend dies and he becomes seriously injured. He suffers nightmares and war trauma not being able to handle it he pushes Alyssa away and leaves. She won't give up on him and fellows him back to London. A terrific love story. I never cried reading a book before. I laughed and cried almost all night reading this one. I found it really touching and delightful read.”
