Kindle. The cold war between the Jedi and the Alliance continues to get hotter and hotter. Luke finds another group tied to the force and some answers on Jaden's fall. Finally the Lost Sith tribe go up against their first Jedi, to bad for them it's Luke and Ben. Good read solid 3 stars.

This is the best of the "Fate of the Jedi" series so far, and worlds better than "Omen". Of particular interest is the view into Sith culture it gives.

I love love love Troy Denning. He does so much more to develop the same characters that other authors just write through hoops. He changes them and brings them to life. Vestara the Sith and her Master are on a mission to get Ship, a Sith training vehicle, but their party is stopped by a woman who is more demonic-Force-presence than human. Luke and Ben are deep in the black hole cluster of the Maw on a station like the superweapon Centerpoint, with a bunch of crazy Force-users who are beginning to explain why young Jedi (now including Barv and Yaqeel) are going crazy. These Force-users take Luke on a reeeeeally hokey and "astral" journey to the spirit world, where he and Ben talk to Anakin, Mara, and Jacen. Luke and Leia both forsee Allana as a future peacekeeper, lonely but powerful. Also, Jaina and Jag figure out a way to get Jarvis to work for them by revealing the government's treachery and WHY DO SO MANY CHARACTERS HAVE NAMES THAT BEGIN WITH J AND K???

Still liking this serries. I don't like the whole Jaina and Jag thing, never did care for Jag much. I really want to know how this whole crisis is going to resolve itself.

In this book, Luke is lead to a group called the Mind Drinkers, located on a Centerpoint-like Space Station in the Maw Cluster. They teach him the technique that Jacen learned from them as well, called Mind-Walking, and he discovers secrets from the dead. Back on Coruscant, another Jedi goes crazy and a connection between all of the crazy Jedi is made: they were all sheltered during the war in the Maw Installation. The Sith attack Luke and Ben, but they escape, and track the last remaining Sith...

This is the first book of the series I coudn't put down, at least willingly, that is. The other two hadn't struck me as great or even good, only as decent. It seemed that the first two moved at the pace of glacier slowly melting, because of all things global warming. I respected Christie Golden for her first Star Wars book, but she should have started a single book first before tackling a series. Now Troy Denning is a very talented writer, I believe this is why Abyss was the best in the series so far. But there's too much to keep track of in this series. Ben and Luke's adventures, Han and Leia caring for Allana, crazed Jedi who are merely "sick", Daala about to outlaw Jedi entirely, and Jaina and Jagged Fel little escapades. And Vestara Kai, another Sith. I like the Sith don't get me wrong, but jeez. Now I'm ranting about the series. I recommend Abyss if you wish to continue the series or even if you don't. A very solid book.
