It was very well written, and I liked the entire book. I can't wait to read Jurassic Park. VERY good and highly recommended!!!”

Speaking of quality writing, or rather for something completely different... I was determined to like Crichton. Jurassic Park was heavily flawed but I forgave it and tried to enjoy it. But he just cannot write. If only someone had given him a thesaurus so he could find just one synonym for said. Whole pages of dialogue dominated by 1 word.. just inexcusable in an adult book. This book also had virtually nothing to do with Jurassic Park. He changed his mind almost entirely on the point. Plot points were amazingly inconsistent. And this book was just generally snoozeworthy. Pirate Latitudes will likely be my last by him. I can't pass on a book on pirates even if it is written by this goof.

“While I definately liked this book, it didn't quite have the great feel of the original. It was still good, but maybe it was just that we've seen this before... due to Jurassic Park and the original Lost World. It was good though, and I love Ian Malcolm's character. 100% differant from the movie.”
