Blood and Chocolate

by Annette Curtis Klause

Characterizing the adolescent experience as monstrous is not exactly a new idea. M.T. Anderson's woefully confused teen vampire in Thirsty and Jean Thesman's reluctant young witch in The Other Ones serve as excellent examples of this metaphor set to fiction. But no one really captures how our hormones make us howl as well as Annette Curtis Klause. Blood and Chocolate chronicles the longings and... (read more)

Hoping to find something that might catch my attention like the Twilight series, I picked this up. UGH! I'm not finishing it. I would never recommend this for my teens.

I read this book because of the good reviews. I did ejoy it a lot and I also think those who like the Twilight series will enjoy it to. I sat down and read the entirebook on a Satureday. Then I went and rented the movie on Sunday. I have 2 things to say bout this 1. I am glad that I read the book befor I saw the movie or I never would have read it. 2. Did the director of this film even read the book. It was not even close.

I thought it was a good book. It totaly caught my attention. Howeber, I feel that if you don't have a more mature view on the world, not extreme adult outlook, than you couldn't read this. NOT a book for children.

I bought this because of the werewolf topic....I must say, they are my favorite fictional people/creatures.
I haven't read it yet, because I'm in the middle of several other books, but I will soon and will probably have plenty to say about it then.

I expected the movie to suck, but I was truly shocked when I saw it...Worse than I thought. The only similarity were the names and the title....Horrid. It's one of my favorite werewolf novels and Hollywood killed another good book.

Hey, Kelsey B, you will love this book. It's werewolves from the insiders view, and it applies to oneself in the sense of trying to find a personal identity. Even if you don't like it, this book is so short you won't have wasted any time. Doesn't matter, you'll love it.
