This was my first book I have read by Michael Crichton, and this is the first Sci-Fi novel I have read. This was a captivating book that kept me on the edge of my pages. The way Crichton involved the government and all of the organizations was outstanding. Also how he kept the reader involved in this strange mystery. I would not be surprised if there was something like "Scoop" and a on call organization of scientist for a situation like this one. Over all I very much enjoyed the book a lot and the excellent vocabulary that was used.

Good story as a first novel but Crichton's book is rather anti-climactic. 4 stars for a thrilling science thriller but it lacks a more exciting narrative.

of all the Michael Crichton books, Andromeda Strain is the most famous, and for good reasons. this book is one of Michael Crichton's best and he has had a lot of good books. The suspense is huge and continues all the way to the last page. you never know what will happen next. Now there are a lot of scientific terms so people may get confused. The thing is you do not need to know all of them to under stand so don't try to under stand every thing that happens. Any Sci-Fi or Suspense style book lover must read this book.
