“God and Lucifer make a wager that balances on a boy named Joby. The wager starts when Joby is 9 years old and has to end by the time he is 40.
I really enjoyed this book because (among other reasons) God, Lucifer, and the angels all act like somewhat normal beings. Lucifer throws temper tantrums. God says he created the world because he was bored and wanted someone to talk to. Also, Arthur and the Roundtable are tied into the story which makes it even more interesting.
I am not religious, but I found myself wishing that certain things in the book could really be that way. But, don't a lot of books make us feel like that - isn't that the point? ”
