Read this. Was extremely sad. The hope at the end is so faint, I almost think I miss it. The story, writing, overall, is excellent, the story itself, is just so incredibly sad to think of a young girl losing everything and having to witness it all, in order to save her life by being silent. The fact that it is based on a true story is even more kudos to the author for finding the sliver of transparency that makes the story come alive. A good read, but sad. Try to read it in the afternoon, or you'll puzzle over the whole thing all day. I did.
