“This book clearly portrayed the life, loyalty, and priorities of a poor, female youth growing up in the rural Ozarks. She learned many of life's lessons the hard way and kept pushing forward regardless of the toll it took on her. Life is brutal.
Winter's Bone is not a bad book by any means; it is just not something that i enjoyed. I completed the book anyway, which was not too unpleasant as the book is very short. I was glad when it was over, and i quickly moved on to another book without much afterthought for this one. I will not likely ever read this book again. ”
