The man is legend. The book however is bit long on platitudes. It's a should- read if you are business leader - just don't get your hopes up. That said, his insights on global commerce are eniightening. More importantly, he saw them and invested on them 20 years ago - long before the latter-day chattering class began speaking knowingly about other's success.

Great insights about career and life in general. Simple lucid style free from jargon. Very inspirational too.

Excellent book with theories that can be easily implemented into ones career. Welch breaks down his concepts to a point where he almost pushes a person to think out of the box and the norm. Corporate genius.

Welch's book is a compendium of common-sensical knowledge distilled over years of working with people and groups. I recommend this book to the entry-level managers and B-school graduates, though it might "pollute" minds of other categories of readers!

I ended up getting a signed copy by Mr. Jack himself... my MBA school J. Mack Robinson, GSU) had sponsored some students based on their performance to an event in Atlanta, GA where he was speaking. GSU gave us the book as a gift and we got it signed by Jack & his wife.

Heard and read a lot about Jack Welch (did a lot of case studies related to GE at biz school), plus read his column in Biz Week (The Welch Way).

Unfortunately I still have NOT read this or any other Welch book so far...
