I can't say as I've read very many business books yet, but for an introduction to the genre I thought this a good one. I enjoyed reading along with his career progression especially; some of the later chapters were skimmable as they contained some repeated stories.

In his #1 New York Times bestseller, Jack Welch surveys his brilliant career at General Electric, reveals his personal business philosophy, and discusses his life post-retirement in a new afterword. They called him Neutron Jack. They called him the world's toughest boss. And then Fortune(r) called him "The Manager of the Century." In his 20-year career at the helm of General Electric, Jack Welch defied conventional wisdom and turned an aging behemoth of a corporation into a lean, mean engine of growth and corporate innovation. In this remarkable autobiography--a classic business book and runaway New York Times bestseller now updated with a new afterword--Jack Welch takes us on the rough-and-tumble ride that has been his remarkable life.

If you are interested in CEO-level thinking, this is a good start. I've not read many bios at this level, but it was an easy read and gave insight into the legacy. I've started Winning, but it's more polished and high-level, whereas this book is the anecdotal version, which I consider to be more fun.

One of the better management+autobiography books I've read. For one, the story is inspiring and second, the management lessons are actionable. The first is common, the second less so.
