I can't say as I've read very many business books yet, but for an introduction to the genre I thought this a good one. I enjoyed reading along with his career progression especially; some of the later chapters were skimmable as they contained some repeated stories.

    I was once with GE-Middle East and I personally met this person. He greeted the drivers in the office by first name! I remember very well his "BOUNDARYLESS" management style in the 80s where even the office cleaner can discuss his thoughts with the VP!

    I was not impressed by Mr. Welch. His tactics looked very arrogant. It may suit people who want to work up the ladder. But all the time I had got the feel of arrogance. It worked out well for Mr. Welch.
