“this book was boring in some places and was hard for me to actually focus on the book. i didn't get the chapter If it's square it's a sonnet, when in doubt, it's from shakespeare; or the bible. someone help me?”
“"How to read literature like a professor" was a lot better than i expected. It was a little boring in places, but i ultimately learned a lot from it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to become smater and all around a better reader. Many things thats this book talked about i never even considered could have a doulble meaning. So now when i read, i am more aware of what the writer is trying to express and i owe it all to Thomas Foster.”
“I just read How to Read Literature Like a Professor & I could not stand it.I don't know how many times I fell alseep, but some parts in the book it was interesting. ”
“hi tali:i agree with you sometimes im reading a book and i ask myself why did the author write this story...what inspired her/him. i even ask myself if what happened in the book happened to her/him or to someone she/he knew. i think its amazing how a series can have so many books and after each and every one of them we still want more...but nobody knows the secret for why she/he wrote the first book in the first place.(unless its fictional) i ahve also become a book addict...and i cant wait to read "How to Read like a Professor". ”
“I'm reading this now and really enjoying bringing deeper insight to my future reads.”
“The cover-Huckleberry Finn.Why-This is the chapter where they are trying to teach Huck to read and spellGenius-yes.”
“I just read How to Read Literature Like a Professor and it's really gotten to me. I can't "just read" anymore, so I'm a happy addict :) I'm in the midst of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, right now, and I'm finding it hard to find an answer to one question: The premise of "How to Read..." is that every story you read is echoing an earlier one. Does anyone know of a story that could have inspired Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?”
