“Big Fish is a story that has many great life lessons in it. Big Fish is about a son who tells storys/jokes that are based upon his father, Ed. While the reader is reading the stories about Ed, he is ill and is about to pass away in the hospital. This book uses amazing metaphors about life. There are comparasions to love, happiness, rough times, and good times through the events that take place in the father's life. Big Fish is broken into many different chapters, which are all different stories. It gets annoying to read each separate story, but in the end it is well worth it because they all tie together so well. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy myths/jokes and tearful relationship stories. Now that I have finished this book, I am planning on renting the movie soon!”

Perhaps I feel this way because I saw the movie first or because I love Tim Burton, but I just felt like the book wasn't as moving and heartlifting as the movie.”

It was hard to seperate fiction from reality in each of the stories because I found they often overlapped. It seems the stories were in no particular order. So it was like getting his father's life story in bits and pieces all jumbled up. The author used some language that was unfamiliar to me, which didn't help my confusion. I would not read this again, and I would not reccommend it to anyone else. ”
