The best Amy Tan book I've read (and I've read most of hers.) I bought this book in a set that also included The Joy Luck Club and I thought this book was much more entertaining.

Very good. About the Chinese culture and the relationship between a mother and daughter.

My 2nd favorite Amy Tan book. Much darker than her first book "Joy Luck Club". She does a great job in bringing her characters to life. You wish you can slap Wen Fu because he is so horrible mean and abusive.

Maybe this is an obvious statement but the book is more relate-able if you are Chinese.

I wish they would make a movie out of this book. It would be very powerful if cast and produced correctly.

This book is about the relationships between Winnie and her daughter Pearl and the abusive relationship between Winnie and Wen Fu, her husband. Over all I wouyld recommend this book to thoes people who like to read sad stories.

This was soooo sad. I cried a lot reading this. It was also really good though.
