“Didn't grab me quite as much as some of Tan's other stories but still pretty enjoyable. The classic Tan stamp of modern mixed with tradition still runs through here. ”

“my goodness, this was the first Amy Tan novel that i've read, and so far i just loved it! Amy tan writes with so much simplicity and details that you can't help appreciate the Chinese culture. The scenes and the characters of the book are so clearly stated. what a wonderful writer Amy tan is.”

“Really enjoyed this book and it makes me want to re-read The Joy Luck Club which I read when it came out and was just ok with. Loved the in-depth story and really didn't want it to end. Recommend.”
