A fantastic space opera. There is political intrigue, family dramatics, adventure, some strong women, and some fantastic men. The sci fi is great and the people are not over-shadowed by the story. A great ending to Cordelia's story and a wonderful beginning to Mile's saga.

Cordelia... [3
No, napokon stižem do onoga što me stvarno zanima - Milesa.
Lagani cinizam...

Cordelia rocks my sock, most definitely. Such a strong and independent woman; without losing her female characteristics, such an warrior.

After reading this one, I've started recommending this series to everyone I know. The last half had me glued to my headphones.

Really 4.5 stars. One of the better Vorkosigan stories.

After reading Shard of Honor I had to read this one again too. Great, Wonderful, Amazing book. Cordelia is my favorite character not just in science fiction but in all fiction. I love seeing how she thinks and what she does. That is why I’ve read these books so many times. She is strong and smart and empathetic and feminine and resourceful. I can relate to her and want to be her.

Strong prequel to the Miles Vorkosigan series. It doesn't explain why Cordelia doesn't have more children, like she wants to at several points in this book, but does a nice job of showing why Miles turned out so well.

A fabulous sequel to Shards of Honor, best read before undertaking the many adventures of Miles Vorkosigan.
