I never ment to become a nitpicker. I've been an avid fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation from the first time I saw the Enterprise NCC 1701-D and Captain Jean-Luc Picard stepped out of the shadows at the very beginning of "Encounter at Farpoint." For the next several years, I watched the show each week with starry-eyed attention, enjoying not only the plots and characters but also the gadgetry. Being a programmer, I'm fascinated with computer technology. Then came... THE SCENE. The one that set me on my present course and made me what I am today. It happend during "The Offispring." In this episode, Data creates a daughter called "Lal." In the fateful scene, Wesley Crusher visits Data and Lal in Data's laboratory. They speak about the possibility of Lal attending school. Toward the end, Dr. Crusher's voice interrupts the conversation, "Dr. Crusher to Wesley Crusher: Aren't you supposed to be getting a haircut, Wesley?"
