“Canadian Timothy Findlay's parody of the Christian Great Flood is an interesting though sometimes depressing read. I enjoyed how his sense of social justice rang through as he depicted the Noyes family as individuals--real people. It is fictional and Findlay makes no illusions to the contrary, but I could see that some Christians and Jews would be offended by the concept of ascribing personalities to the "Noah" family and the idea that "God" was weary and depressed at what the world had...”
