“I was drawn to this book because its been compared, lightly, to the style and wit of the Veronica Mars TV character. Slow to start with a weak plot, I felt that this story concentrated more on character development of the family than on the story itself. From what I understand, this book is supposed to be the beginning of a series. I'm hoping that the next book, if it is every published, has gotten the family development out of the way and concentrates on the story and the supposed crime-solving skills of this crack-pot group of lovingly dysfunctional family members.”
