Didn’t Like It“This book is more concerned with materialistic pleasures that Dubai can buy you than any details about oil trading. Readers looking for a name-dropping account of cars, clubs, penthouses and business class lounges will not be disappointed. Anything else and stay away.” see full review » see other reviews » |
“Much like "Bringing Down The House", I see this being made into a movie.”

This is the second non-fiction book in a row that I've read that feels like I'm reading a movie. It is so surreal that I have to keep reminding myself that this actually happened. Young good looking Italian guy from a poor background graduates from Harvard Business School after attending Oxford and starts working at the NY Mercantile Exchange where commodities like crude oil are traded. Within weeks he is thrust into the world of the global oil industry, meeting in lavish locations like Dubai and Geneva swinging what could be a historic change in the financial and geopolitical world.”

i really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading about people who make and lose hundred of thousands of dollars just in a couple of hours. young people spending a quarter million on a night out on champagne and other shinanigans or shady deals taking place. overall its worth a read especially if you live in dubai.”
