- sha'um: A giant, sentient, telepathic cat, large enough to be ridden by up to two people. Only found in the Valley of the Sha'um, a young man makes a pilgrimage there to bond with a yearly cub or die. They remain bonded for their lifespans, though the sha'um will periodically shut down the bond and return to the Valley to mate. Some do not return, leaving their rider grieving.
