Perhaps I was not in the right mindset for this novel when I read it, but I couldn't wait to be finished with it. ick.

Every time some new food fad comes along, I advise those of my friends swept up in it to read this book. When Blue-Green algae was the next great thing, I was gratified to find out that this form of miracle food might in fact poison the brain, but even if it is innocent, the idea of redemption through what you eat is a discredited notion. This pattern was true with the Kellogg Wellville cult and it still fits.
