An allusion to evolution, Dusk is born with only two claws on each hand instead of three, has remarkably different sails than the rest of the chiropters, and has an enhanced ability to echo-locate using his "hunting clicks". His sails are devoid of fur, a step towards being bat-like wings.

  • Hyaenodon: A large carnivorous dog-like mammal.
