An allusion to evolution, Dusk is born with only two claws on each hand instead of three, has remarkably different sails than the rest of the chiropters, and has an enhanced ability to echo-locate using his "hunting clicks". His sails are devoid of fur, a step towards being bat-like wings.

  • Diatryma: A flightless, carnivorous bird.
  • Hyaenodon: A large carnivorous dog-like mammal.
  • Sorcid: A small shrew-like creature with red fangs that deliver a paralyzing poison.
  • Felid: A cat-like mammal. Originally a herb/insectivorous species, evolutionary changes lead them to carnivorous behavior.
