“SCENESTER: SECTION 1:The first part of the Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs takes place in the early 1920s. Eben, his dog Sal, his Pa, and his aunt live on a small farm in Missouri. The town is very relaxed. Eben and his friend Jeb travel to several different neighbors to uncover wonders. I felt a very slow-paced, comfortable life in which families work together to achieve a decent standard of living. Women in the town seem to be portrayed as gossips and all the neighbors of Eben seem to be portrayed as caricatures. ”
