My grandma recommended this book to me a while ago, she knew i would like it. I read this book and immidiatly loved the harry potter books... I would read these books if you are interested in misterious, or different books. This author has the biggest imagination, I never thought an adult could have the imagination of a 10 year old. Once you read this book, you can NOT put it down, and you have to continue reading all 7 harry potter books.

“This is another of my favourite sets of books. I loved every one of them. The characters are great and it is that same genre of fantasy that is not too overdone. Like Chronicles, it is a nice blend of character development, fantasy and story line. Definately worth reading many times over.

Certainly not as spectacular as the latter half of the Harry Potter series, The Sorcerer's Stone still has a place in my heart. How can you not like the book that brought us Hogwarts?

    -from the back-
Harry Potter has never played a sport while flying on a broomstick. He's never worn a cloak of invisibility, befriended a giant, or helped hatch a dragon. All Harry knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley. Harry's room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn't have a birthday party in eleven years.
But all that is about change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to a wonderful place her never dreamed existed. There he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic around every corner, but a great destiny that's been waiting for him...if Harry can survive the encounter.

    My Review:
This book, to put simply in words, is absolutely amazing. The twists and the turns are endless, the plot is enjoyable and the characters end up feeling like your best friends. It's a book and a series that should not be passed up by anyone who just enjoys reading.

Look J.K.Rowling is Awsome and I love her and all of shes book are perfect but if we compare this book whit all other Harry Potter books this book was boring. this is the begining of Harry Potter and how he comes to the wizards world and how he make his self belive that the Harrys Parents arent deth on a Car Crash and he is a Wizard. the most exiting stuff in this book is that no one nows that what will happens to harry and how hard becomes living in wizards world whit the one you now ( Voldemort) and the deth eathers and lots of unfortunate happenings...U nowit is Hard to beliv that the a Yung and simple Harry Potter becoms to the boy that has to fight whith the one who you now (Voldemort). after all that was a good begining for a book series but I thinck that THE SAGA OF DARREN SHANs begining was better than this....after all that was good...good.

This one harry potter book will fill in for all of them.

Harry potter is a boy who is aparently a wizard and he's more than happy to use them as a key to get away from his retarted relatives and go fight mountain trolls, basilisks, and eventually, lord voldemort.
