Staggering book. I have to read it again sometime.
The author“s motorcycle road trip with is son in search for himself mixed with his extraordinary philosophical views is worth reading. Believe me!
If you want to find your gumption, then read this book now! :)

It is a little bit amazing that I managed to finish this--a book I found deeply tedious, sometimes intriguing, and often irritating. Sheer determination saw the end of this dense 373 page, philosophical treatise on one man's quest to find the limits of rationality. And dip into insanity on the...

I would compile this with Ayn Rand's materials and philosophy of capitolistic objectivism. It hits on the subject of enjoying quality objects that work. Pragmatic philosophy that will stick with ya , even though it was grueling to work through the chapters. I will return to this book later in life.

Read it in college and loved it, tried to reread as an adult and it no longer appealed to me.

One of the finest books I have read. Through a motorcycle journey the author takes you through the values of life, the various approaches to it.

Existential dilemmas revisited. Made all the more poignant by an epilogue to beat all epilogues in its pathos

Very recommended but disappointed. A classic, but not for me.

I've read this book at least once a year since I discovered it in 2006.

Interesting to read while thinking about programming.
    Interesting to read in general.

Not exactly what I expected, but still very interesting. A fresh take on philosophy interspersed with snapshots of a father trying to connect with his son on a cross-country motorcycle trip. Poignant at times, borderline tedious at others, overall I found the book very enjoyable in small doses (my 20 minute daily bus rides).
