This book brings alive the roads of Montana and other places. You feel as if you are out three with all nature surrounding you. One day I want to take a drive along those places. It also talks about the small things that matter in a tech. device (in this case a mobike.) if you have ever bothered to repair a bike or even assembled a computer yourself taking care of the little things that matter, you will know what I am talking about. In a world, where the big things rule, it is not often that we have time to look at the small things. Looking at the little things brings one close to one's soul, and this book does it.

A read this about a year ago. I didn't agree with a lot of what he had to say about quality but none the less it influenced some of my ways of thinking today, & is indeed one of my favorite novels. A "Quality" reading experience.

I read this book in college at a time when I wanted to shift from math to english and loved it because it spoke about Classicism and Romanticism and how, if you're after a quality existence, they're inseparable. I never shifted, and I think this book helped me see why I didn't have to, and probably also helped me land jobs that require both logic and creativity. I bought my original copy at a second-hand store and leaving it behind in Japan is one of my few regrets in life.

There are a lot of resource available on the net to help one appreciate this book. Dont give up on it. Try a little harder to stick with it. check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_and_the_Art_of_Motorcycle_Maintenance.
