Well, it's actually hard to "rate" this book as a 4. By 4, I mean, I'm glad I read it, it was interesting, and important. 4 does not necessarily mean that it is a GOOD book. In fact, it is manipulative, sad, revealing, and a little scary. It definitely gave me a lot of insight into the minds of...

I picked this up just because it's famous and I saw it on sale, and always wanted to know the background of the term "Machiavellian."

At first I found it fascinating, having not read anything of that sort before. But it became heavy about half way through, too much political scheming and analytical minutia for my taste. I didn't actually get to the end of it.... Maybe someday.

I wasn't sure how to rate this one; I didn't LIKE it, but I was glad I read it because it played such a key role in history.

Machiavelli is credited as the first political scientist. There are a lot of theories on how to get power and keep it that were used during colonialism. An interesting read.
