A Feast for Crows runs in parallel with the newer A Dance with Dragons, each following different characters during the same time span. This was a bit of a slower entry in the series, and many of the new characters you follow aren't my personal favorites (Tyrion and Jon are missing, and Arya disappears partway through). But when you're reading this series, you have to become accustomed to your favorite characters disappearing, and have faith that the new ones you meet will eventually be just as entertaining. I enjoyed the iron islands storyline in particular, which was a new perspective. Definitely a worthy entry in the series, but know that there's a lot of build up for the next book, which I imagine will be out of control.
