There is just soooo dang much going on in this book!! I loved every single page!! So many shocking deaths, unseen betrayals and the ending was something I never dreamed would happen. WOW!

In spite of the time it took me to finish reading the book, so far this is probably the best book of the series. There isn't much I can say about it without giving out any spoilers so, being as generic as I can be, I can say that there is a lot of betrayal, lots of completely unexpected deaths (or maybe not so unexpected, but things you didn't think would happen so "early"), a LOT of action and a lot of potential for the next books!

I felt this was the best of the series so far. lots of good plot twists and turns. Abrupt changes in fortune for many characters. People are being tested and finding out that they themselves aren't who they thought they were!! No more black and white, a LOT of grey areas.

Holy damn, I really like these books. This one was certainly intense all the way through, and I got sucked helplessly into the story. There were a few scenes that were so horrible they left me feeling awful for the rest of the day after having read them. In the very best of ways, though; I love a book that makes me take its story way too seriously.

My favorite of the series yet! So much action, depth - and plot twists galore. Reading the books doesn't ruin the show at all, as the show is able to explore side characters and subplots in a way even the book doesn't, so don't let that stop you from enjoying this excellent installment in this epic series.

The third in the "A Song if Ice and Fire" series continues a great series! Lots of great characters and so many twists and turns! I loved this. If you watch the television series on HBO be sure to read these first. The series is great but the books are even better! Slight spoiler here: The first 2 seasons on television followed the first 2 books very closely but the third season so far has begun to stray from the book. So far not overly stray but there have been differences. I heard they were going to do that with the tv series though. Its not a horrible thing but if you want to know the story as the author intended you have to read the books.
