A fun read and in some ways the basis for Wired Magazine as it originally was - deep, futuristic, and engaging. Philosophically it is about technology driving society towards anarchic techno utopia - our technology will become so complicated and biology-like that it will become "out of (human) control" while still being increasingly beneficial.

A fair portion of the book qualifies as vintage futurism. Some ideas have passed completely into the mainstream (outsourcing, ubiquitous...
