Blueberry Muffin Murder (Hannah Swensen Mysteries (Paperback))

by Joanne Fluke

Preparations are underway for Lake Eden, Minnesota's annual Winter Carnival - and Hannah Swenson is set to bake up a storm at her popular shop, The Cookie Jar. This is my third Hannah Swensen Mystery. Although the plot is pretty predictable it's a fun read. The character development is good. And I really want to know what's going to happen with Norman & Mike. And what will her Mother pull next? I'll keep reading the series to find out.

This is the third entry in the Hannah Swensen mystery series. A fast read with minimal plotting; the book focuses more on Hannah’s relationship with her sister, mother and two ‘boyfriends’.

When Connie Mac comes to town for the annual winter carnival everyone is thrilled that America’s “Cooking Sweetheart” is honoring them with her attendance. Unfortunately Connie’s not as sweet as she appears to be. When Hannah goes to work the morning of the carnival she finds Connie face down in her pantry, dead as a doornail. Unable to resist the chance to find the killer Hannah enlists the help of her sister to track him or her down.

Not much brain power required and the aha! moment was pretty ho-hum. The best part of the book is the recipes that appear every few chapters although I have yet to try one.

Another in the culinary mystery series featuring Hannah Swensen, who owns a cookie shop in a small fictional Minnesota town. It's a fluffy read with a predictable plot line, but fun characters and a dash of romance.
