“Well, maybe I'm just not enough of an intellectual, but I just couldn't get through this book, and I tried I really did. This is my favorite genre and the book had gotten good reviews at least on here (biased perhaps? has anyone read it not associated with the publisher or author?). I seldom put down a book once I start, but I also have a rule about not reading crap because there's just too much good stuff out there and I just couldn't finish this. There were some funny scenes but they were ridiculous funny or sick funny. Like having a guy get crushed under the wheels trying to climb ionto the trailer because the bus driver won't stop so he can get out to get a beer. Funny stuff.
Then there's the throwing of all kinds of modern technology into a story about settlers and Indians. Is that what postmodern means? I just found it confusing. And since when is there oil in Virginia? ”
