I mean, it's good, no one can deny that, but it just hasn't swung back to the godlike status that was in the first book. Once more, read the little text blurbs at the begining of each chapter for some pretty nice philosophy.”

“Not quite as good as "Speaker for the Dead," this book does continue the story and fill in some of the holes. Card, in the Afterword, says that this was originally part of a larger book which was split into "Xenocide" and "Children of the Mind."”

“Unlike the first and second books in this series, I found this one dragged on. I also found some of the characters really unlikable. I get it that this family is really messed up, but at times I didn't really want to have to live that out with them. I'm hoping the last book is better. ”
