I liked this book, can't say it was my fave but it was better than the other one. This one had more of a story to it and pulled you in. Don't know if I will become a hardcore fan of the series but I am interested enough to keep reading.

The fusion of Greek mythology and the modern-day era was superb. This is way better than the first book, I considered "Fantasy Lover" as the first Dark-Hunter novel and I'm glad I read it before this one. Characters were recurring here: Julian and Grace have three kids already and another one on the way, this time the hero is Julian's friend Kyrian (of Thrace), and the heroine Selena's sister Amanda.

Although this is only the second Dark-Hunter book I've read, I picked up a pattern. This one had a lot of similarities with the first one starting with the hero, both were thousand-years-old, the heroines were both plain Janes. There's the curse, and only the heroine can break it but surprisingly this time, the heroine has supernatural powers too. I found some parts redundant though like how Kyrian gave his heart (and more) to a woman before and found out that was the biggest mistake of his mortal life.

The predictability was there but I still liked the story a lot, I found Kyrian's story more interesting, and I loved his character especially the sarcasm. Both he and Amanda had quick wits and sharp tongues and it's fun to read their conversation, serious ones were few as they were bantering most of the time.

There were plenty of sex scenes which were really creative and the way it was written wasn't just a quick tumble in the sheets, but they really helped in developing Kyrian and Amanda's story. First lust, then love, formula always works and it really worked for me.

Kyrian continues to be one of my favorite characters in the DH Verse. Great story, albeit sad in some parts.
