In the first book of the Forsyte Saga, the reader learns to hate Soames Forsyte, the Man of Property. But by the time this book, Swan Song, comes along, five books later, he's so lovable both because and in spite of his faults. This book is by far the best of this second set of Forsyte Saga books but would never stand alone.”
