“This was presented to me as a children's book, but do children really want to know the difference between an interstadial and an interglacial? Overall a good read, although the author does not spend much time at all on the topic described in the title, ranging all over related subjects without getting down to the nitty-gritty of daily cave life. He is also questions whether Neanderthals were really people. Being up to 4% Neanderthal himself, he should know better.”
