I wasn't able to finish this book; it was quite painful to read. Sometimes I feel like Dan Brown's aptitude for writing is on the level of the average 12-year old.

I don't remember the what the concept of the book is because I read it a long time ago and did not like it. I think this was the author's first book and it showed. If it wasn't, he must have been in a hurry to get it finished and the book suffered as a result. I liked his other books, but this one was a big disappointment.

The story is written very loosely and it fails to glue the reader, the way Da Vinci Code or Angels & Demons did. There are many technical errors in the book. It seems that the author did not do as much research for this one as he did for his other books.

And yup, i agree with ran that you can predict the antigonist. And all his stories have the same structure. A hitman hired by the antigonist who wants to kills the protagonist who is running here and there in search of something. The same plot bores the reader. You cannot read more than two Dan Brown books in succesion.

After reading his other three books, I was pretty excited to read this one. Unfortunately, I don't think that this one was up to mark. The technical part of the book is fine, but his character development was stilted to say the least. He also tried romance development which came across really corny. However this book shouldn't turn anybody else off his other three books

What I hate in Dan Brown books is the stereotyping!! He misunderstood so many things about the other cultures, he spoiled a lot of the fun.
Japanese Managers; A Jog motorbike with gears... I would say it was far fetched and too American...

    COME ON.....
This is not at all his first book.
Although its not so tight plot may let one think that it is his first book but its not.
    Angel and daemons was.
Anyways, its also worth a read.
