I can't express what I get beyond a thoroughly satisfying feeling each time I read this.

I once heard Gloria Steinem say that Ayn Rand was smart, but had no sense of humor. After reading this, I can believe she didn't have a sense of humor. I can't imagine she was that smart--at least about human nature. The people who really think that Ayn Rand's view of Utopia would really work are seriously naive or possibly mentally ill. Atlas Shrugged is mildly intresting as a story, though overlong. As a blueprint for Utopia it is laughable.

This is a very interesting read. Its stand out in its philosophy, as it is vastly different from the majority of the literary world. I took a break after the second book and read The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut and the contrast of the two works made me enjoy the both of them even more. In Atlas Shruged you have a philosophy that that holds virtuous the power of human motive and then TSOT which preaches that all things have happened and always will happen no matter our earthly squirmings about. [br/][br/]Truly as a conservative or as a liberal it is an important read, whether it is to challenge or reaffirm your ideology.
