Rand shows what govt. interference does to the market and peoples livlihoods be discouraging the mind in productive ways. Why try to succeed in business if you get punished for your success? But they are the ones who pull the rest of us up. She shows what things would be like if the went on strike. Instead of pulling the rest of society up, punishing the rich and those who succeed, just pulls the rest of us down to the equality of poverty.

this is perhaps the most inspirational novels of all times. i had liked the fountainhead by ayn rand... atlas shrugged was one notch better than the fountainhead.
although 1000+ pages, i wish this novel never ended
oh hell, who is john galt?

The book slows in the middle but I was profoundly impacted by her philosophy.

I love Ayn Rand even though she can get a bit preachy at times. She is idealistic but that's why I like her.
