Josie is a strong woman who has the appearance of someone fragile. Her past is haunted by tragedy and her present is haunted by a ghost. Marc, her temporary landlord, is a remarkably strong but gentle and compassionate soul who is able to help her find all the answers she is seeking. The "familiar" cat is an extraordinary secondary character and unquestionably keeps the story moving. I felt that the sexual scenes were really sensual and contain feelings of caring and intimacy that remained with me to the end of the book. It was a wonderful feeling to have past tragedy end on such a warm and happy note.
