Yes | No“s a former thief and con artist, Moist von Lipwig has nevertheles managed to make a success of the Ankh-Morpork post office. Only Lord Vetinari knows that he was once Albert Spangler who was supposedly executed for his crimes. When Moist is "asked" by Vetinari to take control of the failing bank system, he knows he can't refuse. Golems on the loose, a crazy loon of a banking family, and a secretive head teller all make for a confusing mix of mayhem for Moist. It's when the wizards of the Unseen University get in on the action, that things really heat up for the good citizens of Ankh-Morpork. ”

The story is about how a former criminal, Moist Lipwig, with superb public speaking and managing skills makes the Bank of Anhk-Morpork more effective and most importantly making money.
Moist is a funny character because he has a lot of self-confidence and can out think himself out of most situations. This leads to hilarious dialogue or his self monologue in the form of thinking, since most of the story is told through his point of view.
Patrician Vetrinari makes one of his more lengthy appearances in this novel. He only is brought up or seen for a short while but never, from all the novels Pratchett has written, have I read more about him. He adds to the comedy by being the smart and witty dictator of the city and therefore, he can threaten virtually anyone including Moist.
I thought this was a very entertaining book because of the plot-twists and funny dialogue that is cramped into nearly every page.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a laugh and wants a relatively short book to read. ”
“Very enjoyable. Pratchett always delivers and has yet to disappoint me. ”

Moist Von Lipwig, scallywag and general ne'er-do-well was given a second chance at life and given the task of resurrecting the Post Office in the first book. Now that the Post is running better than ever, and the stamps are practically currency, Moist is given the new task of running the Ankh-Morpork Mint. The bank is in bad shape, and it's current commissioner is on her death bed. The city Patrician, Vetinari, believes in Moist's ability to get people to believe in anything.
This wasn't the best Pratchett ever, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. As usual, there are dark goings on, and a mystery to be solved, as well as plenty of sarcasm and humor. The characters seemed to lack some depth to me, and the story wasn't as cohesive as most of his others. Still fun though”
