It's been a long time since my high school science and physics classes and consequently, some paragraphs may require multiple readings to fully grasp. The illustrations and simple and straightforward, there are no equations, and all in all it's a readable book.

I found it interesting and although it might be a bit much for a casual reader, it's a great explanation of the origins of the universe and how we've arrived at our current understandings.

An excellent explanation of many far-reaching physics theories in clear terms by an utterly brilliant writer.

I still find this book rather repetitive and wordy. I didn't understand some of the concepts as described in the book the first time I read it and they still remain poorly explained. In all, its a good overview but can be exhausting to read.

This is a very interesting non-fiction book about contemporary cosmology.

I wish that I could tell everyone that I understanding Stephen but I don't. I have made numerous attempts to sit down with this book & make heads or tails of his genius but truth be told I walk away feeling dumber than before I started.

I started with my feeble attempts after I read that he's involved with the string theory discussions, which I also find fascinating. I don't understand them either but I'll never stop trying.

Maybe I should stick to Dr. Seuss

The first science book I bought. I began to develop my interest in physics since then.

Brilliant guy...but he should be a better writer. Granted, a tough topic. But The Elegant Universe does a much better job.
