- Jimmy: Duncan's boyfriend whom he loves. He is the one who ultimately convinces Duncan to go to Kansas. Jimmy is very outspoken and can be a bit aggressive at times.
- Abraham Stein: A presidential candidate who is gay and Jewish. He is the candidate that both Jimmy and Duncan support immensely.
- Mira: One of Duncan and Jimmy's friends from the Stein campaigning headquarters. She is dating Keisha.
- Keisha: One of Duncan and Jimmy's friends from the Stein campaigning headquarters. She is dating Mira.
- Sara: One of the heads of the campaigning center. Sara is a "drop-dead-then-come-back-to-life gorgeous lesbian."
- Mr. Davis: Mr. Davis is one of Duncan and Jimmy's teachers. He is racist, sexist and homophobic and hates the fact that Stein was voted president. He is a Decent.
- Janna: One of Duncan and Jimmy's friends from the Stein campaigning headquarters. She is part of the Jesus Revolution, and is upbeat, happy and all for doing the right thing at all times. She also has a great sense of humor.
- Virgil: One of the heads of the campaigning center. He is around 80 years old and married to Flora.
- Gus: One of Duncan and Jimmy's friends from the Stein campaigning headquarters. He is very flamboyant and doesn't usually keep a boyfriend for more than a day.
- Mandy: One of Duncan and Jimmy's friends from the Stein campaigning headquarters. She is close friends with Janna and also part of the Jesus Revolution.
- Elwood: A twelve year old boy the group runs into on the way to Kansas who really wants to be Jewish.
- Mrs. Everett: An old lady they pick up on the way to Kansas. She used to date Virgil.
- Duncan: The first person narrator of this story. He is dating Jimmy, although he is a lot more softspoken than him.
- Jesse: A Decent at school who often pushes Duncan around.
- Glen: Add a description of this character.
- Mary Catherine: Formerly Cathy, Mary Catherine is a Jesus Revolutionist turned Decent.
