• Rebakah "Beka" Cooper: A first-year member of the Provost's Guard, colloquially known as 'Dogs'.
• Clara "Clary" Goodwin: Goodwin is ranked as a Corporal was one of Beka's training partners along with Tunstall. In Bloodhound, Beka becomes Goodwin's temporary partner after Tunstall is injured, and they travel to Port Caynn on a hunt.
• Matthias "Mattes" Tunstall: Tunstall is a Senior Guardsman, and was one of Beka's training partners along with Goodwin. Tunstall is usually partnered with Goodwin, but is injured in Bloodhound and has to take time off to recover.
• Dale Rowan: Dale works as a courier for Goldsmith's Bank and is Beka's love interest while she is in Port Caynn. However, he gets also into suspicion of being one of the counterfeiters, because he is "welcome" at the Court of the Rogue and gambles much.
• Nestor Haryse: Nestor is Lord Gershom's cousin, and is a Sergeant of the Dogs in Port Caynn
• Sir Lionel of Trebond: Sir Lionel is the Deputy Provost, and is in charge of the Dogs in Port Caynn.
• Lord Gershom of Haryse: Lord Gershom is the Lord Provost. He took Beka and her family into his household when she was 8 after she caught the Bold Brass gang.
• Achoo Curlypaws: Achoo is a scent hound, and was trained by Phelan.
