I was attracted to this book because of the pretty candy hearts and the light blue/lavender background. I thought "oh, boy a falls in love with boy b who doesn't love boy a." While I got the "boy a falls in love with boy b" part right, the rest was up in the air, and falling fast. The beginning was very hard for me to distinguish the exes from the crushes from the best friends. And what was up with "Infinite Darlene????" But after a chapter of two, they all start to grow on you. Joni, Paul's (the main character) best friend, until she got together with a boy named Chuck. Tony, his best friend (who's a guy) who parents won't let him out the door without knowing that he has his Bible pressed to his heart and most importantly, in his mind. This book was a whirlwind of high school love, best friend fights, jealousy and worldly acceptance of people's sexuality. This book was very good, but could have been spruced up a bit in some parts.

ever wondered what life would look like if the minority were the majority? If acceptance was acceptable? David Leviathans books remind me about what love is supposed to be...

I really liked this book, although it was a little different from all of the other books I've ever read. This book was about a boy falling in love with another boy, but there was a lot of confusion going on. In the high school where these boys went, a lot of the kids were gays and lesbians, some of them transvestites and drag queens. So that was a little weird because I can't imagine this being accepted in our society. But, I really liked the plot and the writing style the author used.

This book is about a sophomore named Paul (who is gay). He had just broken up with a boy named Kyle. He was devastated but looking out for a new love at the same time. One day, at the library, he bumps into a young man named Noah. Instantly Paul falls in love. They go out for a bit but then Noah breaks up with Paul, because Paul had given a comforting kiss to Kyle who was depressed over his aunt's death. Paul is extremely devastated about this. To ad don to the drama, his bst friend Joni, doesnt want to talk to Paul anymore because Paul disapproves of the boy, Chuck, that Joni is going out with. Paul is left alone to face all of these problems. [I don't wan to give away too much, so I'll leave it at that]. i think htis book is somewhat easy to relate to, as everyone has, or has had been faced with problems in high school. On the other note, this book isn't all that realistic, because according to this book, most people are either gay or transvestites, so it gets a tad bit annoying to read. This book can bring out various discussions on sexuality and such.

A cute story about a boy that meets a boy and falls in love. Pretty simple but there's ups and downs as there is to every story.

Some of the book's characters reminded me of my best friend Pablo. I was the first one he told about him being gay and have been there whenever he needed me. He always falls "in love" too quickly, and too hard. Like Paul, he fell in love with a guy, who led him on, and then proceeded to break his heart. Pablo is sometimes so sure of his instincts and it hurts both of us if he's wrong. Like the character Tony, Pablo had to deal with his religious family, telling him he was "wrong". He always helps me, no matter what the problem is. Pablo never judged me, even if everyone else was judging me. He is my best friend, and I'll always love him. :)
