“I stumbled upon this series and I'm so glad that I did. Loved this first book in an historical mystery series that takes place in the late 1800s. Always enjoy a strong woman protagonist and its interesting to see her try to balance the independent life she chooses for herself and being part of high society. This first book nicely sets up the main characters for the continuing series. This book is a fine combination of historical romance and mystery. As soon as I finished this book I moved on to the second one. Thoroughly enjoyable read.”
